Quality Merino rams offer opportunity to bolster flocks

The 46th annual White River Poll Merino sale will provide buyers with plenty of smiles as they look to bolster their stocks.

The sale will be held at 29765 Eyre Highway, Minnipa on Thursday, August 7 at 1pm, with 121 Poll Merinos on offer.

White River stud principals Wes and Jacqui Daniell said they were excited to welcome their clients from all over South Australia and Victoria.

“Our rams have a great combination of body size, body weight, structure, long stapled white wool, along with high eye muscle depth,” Wes said.

“We welcome ram inspection by appointment, prior to sale.”

Australian Sheep Breeding Values will be displayed sale day.

Wes welcomed anyone interested in having a look to come along.

“Once again we will utilise the AuctionsPlus platform,” he said.

“We are excited to have our first offering of leading sires WR 160 (sired by Moorundie 061 purchased for $58,000 in 2021) along with Moorundie 043 (bought for $60,000 in 2023) and Ridgway Advance 71 (bought for $35,000 in 2023). Come along and check out their progeny on offer.

“We welcome all sheep breeders to come and have a look from different regions to come and see what we have to offer.”

The 2025 White River sale team catalogue is available now via whiterivermerinos.com or AuctionsPlus – along with feature videos of the first 40 rams on offer.

The sale will be run by Nutrien Streaky Bay and Elders Streaky Bay.
