One man and 27 women braved the cold weather to attend a women’s breakfast at the Lipson Supper Hall on Saturday, July 12.
Everyone was cosy and warm due to the stoked-up fire in the hall and enjoyed hot porridge and homemade muffins, to name just a couple of things on the menu.
The event was a fundraiser for maintenance and repairs at Lipson Uniting Church.
There was a trading table to buy books and plants and items.
Those attending were entertained by Jeanette Pugsley’s adventures of white-water rafting in Canada.
Pat Carr was presented with a painting for her long service and dedication to the Lipson Uniting Church by Yvonne Flavel, Doug Berryman and Wendy Taylor.
One of the organisers, Alison Spiers, said it was a lovely start to the day and a great chance to be spoiled and fed, plus see everybody during this cold winter weather.
Early morning worship services are held in the Lipson Uniting Church on the first and third Sunday of each month at 8.30am in winter and 8am in summer.
Communion is also held on the first Sunday of the month, and every service is followed by a breakfast of toast and a cuppa.
