Viterra, which has sites across Eyre Peninsula, has officially merged with Bunge Global after talks to combine the companies began in 2023.
The merger was described as the creation of a premier global agribusiness solutions company for food, feed and fuel.
Now known as Bunge, chief executive officer Greg Heckman said finalising the integration was a defining moment for the company.

“Together, we’ve formed a stronger organisation with enhanced capabilities and expertise to meet the evolving needs of our customers, maximise value for our stakeholders and fulfill our shared purpose to connect farmers to consumers to deliver food, feed and fuel to the world.
“Now, we begin the exciting work of bringing our teams and operations together, uniting our strengths to realise the full potential of this combination.”
Bunge will be led by Mr Heckman and chief financial officer John Neppl, with Viterra’s CEO David Mattiske and Bunge’s Julio Garros working together as co-chief operating officers .
Mr Mattiske and Mr Garros will jointly oversee commercial activities including the global commodity value chains, country/regional management teams, renewable fuels initiatives, regenerative agriculture solutions and industrial operations and safety.
The merger was expected to have several strategic and financial benefits, including the enhanced ability to meet demands of increasingly complex markets and being a fully integrated agribusiness solutions company with a global footprint.
