Roemahkita Poll Merino Stud is set for its annual on-property ram sale under the new ownership of Aaron, Claire, Xavier and Sherie Watson.

Roemahkita will have 110 rams on offer on Tuesday, July 29 at 40 Mickan West Road, Edillilie, with all the rams to be penned by 10.30am before the sale starts at 2pm.

Aaron said it was very exciting to look ahead to their first sale under the Roemahkita stud name, since taking over from Joe and Tracey Dahlitz.

“We’re really happy with the line-up on the day and there’s a lot of positivity in the industry at the moment, with really strong mutton and lamb prices,” he said.

“The wool market has also been pretty steady in the past 12 months and we’re super excited to showcase the work we’ve done in the past 18 months.”

Since the change of ownership, Aaron said there had been a focus to retain the regular clients from previous years.

“We’re obviously looking to bring in some new clients too, but the retention of the repeat clients has definitely been the number one priority,” he said.

Roemahkita clients can be sure they will get Poll Merinos with a spread of positive Australian Sheep Breeding Values, with 70 per cent of the offering also non-mulesed.

“We’re trying to breed uncomplicated rams that will suit people who have gone down the non-mulesed path and rams that still cut a decent amount of wool,” Aaron said.

“We are excited to offer our first sons of Pyramid Poll 220220 and Roemahkita 220218, who have bred exceptionally well.”
