Glenville stud at Cowell is getting ready to host its 64th annual on-property sale next month.
It will be on Tuesday, August 5 at 1.30pm, with up to 140 rams up for auction.
The Smith family is into its fifth generation of Merino breeding, with Poll Merinos being the main focus for the past few years.
The rams punch out early growth while carrying elite nourished long-stapled crimpy wool, backed with a great outlook and accurate Australian Sheep Breeding Values (ASBV).
Glenville is focused on high post-weaning weights, positive fat and eye muscle, while maintaining good cutting fleece with a negative micron.
This maximises the profitability and easy care management of a Merino.
Animals will be presented with current wool tests, ASBVs, PP tests and raw yearling eye muscle scans, while all being paddock-run.
The sale team will be available for viewing on AuctionsPlus and social media for two weeks prior to the sale with videos and wool shots.
For those who would like an earlier look, there will be an inspection day on Wednesday, July 30 from noon until 4pm at Glenville – 33 Range Road, Cowell.
