Garage Girls show
Garage Girls is coming to Ceduna and Cummins this week. Hosted by Country Arts SA, the performance is inspired by Alice Anderson’s short but eventful life, taking you from Melbourne’s mysterious underbelly to the deserts of Alice Springs. The show will be at the Ceduna Sports Sports Club today, Thursday, August 7, and the Cummins Community Hall on Saturday, August 9 – both at 7pm. EP dirt circuit
Ceduna Dirt Circuit Club is hosting the rescheduled second round of the EP Tri-Series on Saturday, August 9 at Andoc Park on Denial Bay Road. Gates open at 12.30pm, with practice at 2.30pm and racing from 4.30pm. Entry is $10, under 16s are free. There will be a full bar and canteen.
Wirrulla Mock Wedding
The Wirrulla Hall Committee invites all to attend a Mock Wedding Fundraiser. Dress up in your best op shop wedding guest attire and expect a fun-filled evening complete with a cheeky ceremony, dinner, dancing, and loads of entertainment – all in the name of raising funds to keep the hall up and running. Bird club meeting
Southern Eyre Bird Club’s next general meeting will be on Wednesday, August 13 at 7pm at the Senior Citizens Hall on Hallett Place in Port Lincoln. The club is pleased to announce the guest speaker will be Rachael Kannussaar, who has been involved in hooded plover monitoring and shorebird counts for many years and is passionate about protecting our coastline. A light supper will be provided. All are welcome to attend.
School fundraiser
Lake Wangary School is hosting a quiz night to fundraise for school projects at Coffin Bay Yacht Club from 6pm on Saturday, August 23. There will be live music, platters, raffles and prizes throughout the night. Tickets are $20 each, maximum eight people per table. Contact the school for more information.
Border Dash
Register now for the 35th annual Border Dash on Saturday, October 11. Rodeo by the Sea
Streaky Bay will host the bulls, broncs and barrels once again at the popular Rodeo by the Sea event on Saturday, October 18 at Streaky Bay Racecourse. Blue Water Raiders Dragon Boat Club
Come and join the group for a morning paddle in the beautiful calm waters of Tumby Bay. The dragon boaters meet every Sunday, weather permitting, at 7.45am, at the Tumby Bay marina boat ramp. No experience is necessary, with life jackets and paddles supplied. Enjoy a single paddle or become a new member. Patchwork Group Ceduna
The Patchwork Group meets at Ceduna Men’s Shed on Eyre Highway every Tuesday from 10.30am to 3pm. Bring along any project you may want to do – you are not limited to patchwork. A small fee of $5 is charged per week, which enables the group to donate any excess funds to the Ceduna Hospital and Village Auxiliary plus Royal Flying Doctor Service, and also to help with the cost of utilities. Busyfingers Craft Group
Ceduna’s Busyfingers Craft Group meets at Ceduna Men’s Shed every Friday from 10.30am to 2pm and people are welcome to bring along any project they would like to. Members have a range of skills from quilting/patchwork, knitting, crocheting, card making, diamond dots, embroidery and more. A small fee of $3 is charged per week. Coffee and a chat make the perfect blend at Our Town Kimba each Wednesday from 10am until 11.30am, alongside the Healing Hugs quilting group.
Youth hub
The Our Town Kimba shed hosts a relaxed hangout space for young people aged 12 to 17 every Wednesday from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.
RSL bingo
Cowell RSL Sub-Branch holds bingo each Tuesday at 7pm. $15 for 10 games with tea and coffee provided.
Just Love to Dance
