The Ceduna branch of South Australian Country Women’s Association (SACWA) hosted its February meeting in the Anglican Church Hall last week.
President Jenny Skinner welcomed six members, with two apologies from Pauline Price and Judy Gregory.
After the creed was recited, it was noted that voting for the state SACWA president is closing on Friday, February 28.
The SACWA State Council will be held in Port Pirie on March 5 and 6.
All members received a resume of the SACWA State Council from November.
Claire Collins kindly filled in for Kath Dunn, who was to go to air on ABC with Jason Chang last October for SACWA Ceduna branch with a favourite recipe.
There were no birthdays for February, but Jenny received her birthday chocolate for January from Claire – she celebrated her 80th birthday.
Other birthdays for January were Kate Nash and Doreen Denton.
Craft Tuesdays will be at Elaine Kloock’s home.
Judges for the competitions were Claire and Annette Moyse.
Kath and Amanda Hoffrichter finished on 10 points in the bloom competition, with Elaine, Annette and Jenny on nine.
Amanda’s entry for the craft competition was deemed the most outstanding, with Kath and Elaine on 10 points.
The roll calls were a 50th wedding anniversary celebration, a holiday with a friend in Victoria, an 80th birthday celebration, having part of a sewing machine needle removed from a finger, an unscheduled stay in Adelaide, preparations for a family reunion and a 100th birthday celebration in Adelaide.
The next meeting is on Tuesday, March 11 at the Anglican Church Hall and all are welcome.
A cuppa and a chat, with plenty of laughs, saw the afternoon close.
