Kimba pageant draws a crowd

Kimba Transport’s Mario Brothers’ theme won the best float in the Kimba Christmas pageant.

Kimba Christmas Tree president Madison Chambers said voting was extremely close to select the winning entries.

Second prize went to the Friends float and third to the Harradine family for Levi and his Beach babes.

Madison said there was once again a fabulous turnout to watch the 19 entries in the pageant, and thanked locals for taking the time to enter.

She said the Kimba Christmas lights competition was wow-worthy, with Chloe and Ryan Hanan winning first place and Cheryl and Pump Davey second.

There was a tie for third and fourth place, shared by Kylie Hass and Josh and Michelle Vandeleur.

“What an absolutely amazing job houses have done bringing so much Christmas shine – we don’t need street lights,” Madison said.

“Which did make things extremely close for light judging, scores have been added, and added again, with very close scores.

“We would like to give a shoutout to Stuart and Bev Clements and Viterra. They’ve done a sensational job and as someone that remembers the days of honking the horn for Santa to dance at Clements it’s a joy to see the amazing job continuing.”

She also added Al and Marie Venning’s house, just out of town, as a Christmas entry well worth seeing and congratulated everyone who took part to bring an extra touch of Christmas spirit to the district.
