Rupara wins best street lights

Rupara Street in Cowell won the best street in Cowell Lions’ Club’s Christmas Lights competition.

An honorable mention also went to Keith Street, in Cowell.

Justin and Kirralee Beinke won the best rural display for their entry at 10 Narridy Road, which was visible from Birdseye Highway.

The best house in the competition was won by Danny and Danielle O’Brien, on Kimba Road; with second prize going to Kerri Davies, on the same road; and third to Darren and Vicky Fisher, on Rupara Street.

The best business lights was won by Sassy’s Cafe, with the Commercial Hotel second.

Incentive awards were won by Julie Magnay, for the best nativity scene; Flavel Drive, for the most harmonious street; Malcolm and Gloria Brine for the most festive; Kalari McKeown for the most colourful; and Mr and Mrs Arnold for the most bright and cheerful.
