Strong focus on quick growth

Wiabuna White Dorper Stud’s focus on quick growth will be evident at the annual on-property sale next week.

The sale, to be held on Tuesday, September 23 at the property about 24 kilometres west of Ceduna, will see 60 rams on offer.

That is down by 40 on the 2024 sale, which stud principal Neville Hoffrichter said was a sign of the difficulties building up over the past few years.

“We have fewer rams up for sale this year which is due to the season, with no sheep around,” he said.

“While it has not been that good, it has been better than last season. We have got green crops for feed, which helps.”

Neville has his white dorper rams ready for the sale.

“Quick growth with big frames is what we work on at the stud,” he said.

Neville said it was difficult to tell what to expect from the sale, but was hopeful of gaining a full clearance.

“It is hard to tell, some might need rams and some don’t.”

Neville welcomed all repeat and new buyers to come along.

Buyers are welcome to inspect the sheep from 11am, with a light lunch provided before the auction starts at 1pm.

The sale will be conducted by Nutrien West Coast Ag.
