Solid wins across senior matches

The men and women competitions of Cummins District basketball saw solid wins across all games, while the results were a lot tighter in the inter-boys competition.

Curtis’ defeated Froffies by 22 points in the men’s basketball on Thursday night, 70-48.

Cooper Perham had 20 points for Curtis’, while Jedd Dunbar topped Froffies’ scorecard with 13 points.

The second men’s match saw a 28-point victory go the way of Elders over Rambros as it ended 66-38.

There were even contributions on the scoreboard from Elders as Phoenix Milburn scored 16 points, Gus Crettenden had 14, Clayton Colbert and Aaron Lawrie both had 12, and Archer Haylock finished with 11 points.

Marcus Gobin led with 11 points for Rambros and Lochie Letton had nine.

Anchors beat IGA by 17 points in the inter-women match.

Bella Agars had 29 points on the board for Anchors in the 39-22 result and Asha Ward led with 12 points for IGA.

It was a similar result in the match between Wiggies and Clouds, as Wiggies won by 18 points, 40-22.

Bree Shepperd had 18 points for Wiggies, while Zora Curtis scored 12 points for Clouds and Mia Curtis had eight points.

The inter-boys matches saw some close results.

Steelers narrowly defeated Electric Eels by three points.

It ended 64-61 as Noah Radford and Braden Phelps both had 22 points for Steelers, while Jy Williams topped with 32 for Electric Eels, and Bailey Doolan had 25.

It was four points the difference between Strikers and Haulers, with Strikers winning 46-42.

Bradley Phelps had 21 points for Strikers, while William Turner shot 27 for Haulers.

In the junior girls matches, Lattes defeated Hounds 29-8, while one point separated Stars and Glitzers, with a 30-29 result for Stars.

Dunlops narrowly beat Termites in the junior boys, 28-26, while Road Trippers were too good for Bulls with a 30-13 result.

Auto Ag took the win over Chippies by 22 points, 36-14.
